P&G UK at Paris 2024
Superior Performance, Superior Brands: Supporting Team GB at Paris 2024
A summer of sport awaits, with The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 beginning on Friday 26th July. P&G remains a proud sponsor of the Olympic Movement, with more than 30 of our brands around the world launching Olympic and Paralympic Games-inspired campaigns in the coming weeks.
In the UK, we’re delighted to be working with a number of inspiring Team GB athletes – each of whom are dedicated to giving their best performance, every day. Because becoming a champion isn’t possible without that dedication to giving your best – just like P&G products, which deliver the best performance every day, so that Olympic and Paralympic athletes can focus on being champions both on and off the field.
This includes Kye Whyte – an Olympic silver medal winning BMX racer and a P&G UK ambassador for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The 24-year-old Peckham-born athlete has been riding since the age of three and grew up in a BMX-mad family. His older brother, Tre, won a bronze medal at the 2014 BMX World Championships.
In 2021, Kye made history by winning Team GB’s first ever BMX medal at the delayed Olympics Games Tokyo 2020. The year after, he added a European title and World Championship silver medal to his collection.
Kye is now aiming for the ultimate prize in Paris this summer.
He said, “The dream for Paris is one better than the silver, which is the gold. Winning that gold would be everything.”
After a 2023 marred by injury, he’s shown impressive form so far this season – with a world cup win and back-to-back European cup round wins. He’ll be aiming to maintain this high performance going into the competition in Paris.
Kye said, “The approach is the same as the approach that won me a silver medal, nearly a gold, last time. I took it race by race. Not once did I lose myself and I kept my head in the right frame and stayed on track.”
Kye is a shining example of the daily dedication it requires to become an Olympian. From an early age his commitment to training and performance, alongside unwavering support from his family and community, has led to success on and off the track, and has inspired the next generation of British BMX champions.
Kye said, "Becoming a champion isn't possible without the daily dedication to giving your best. That's why I am working with P&G brands, such as Gillette, Ariel, Oral-B and Head & Shoulders, as they give me the best product performance every day, so I can focus on bringing my best to the track.”
We’re also partnering with a number of athletes around the world – including four from Team GB – as part of P&G’s Athletes for Good programme. Our full roster of athletes represents 17 countries and 37 sports, with charities receiving a grant of $24,000 on behalf of our partner athletes. Click here to find out more about our UK athletes.
P&G has been a Worldwide Partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 2010. Since then, P&G and its brands, including Always®, Ariel®, Gillette® and Head & Shoulders®, have partnered with more than 500 athletes around the world to shine a light on their daily commitment to be the best they can be; just as P&G brands commit to delivering superior performance for people who count on the brands in their everyday lives.
