A Force for Growth to be A Force for Good through Community Impact
At P&G, we’re committed to being a Force for Growth so that we can be a Force for Good in the communities in which we live and work. That means not only serving people through our trusted family of brands, but being there for them in greater times of need — when our products and support matter more than ever. Whether it’s supporting hygiene education, facilitating an essential necessity such as clean water or delivering essentials for families impacted by disaster, our goal is to improve the health and well-being of the communities we touch.
Today, on International Day of Charity, we’re delighted to begin our first ever Northern Europe Community Impact month at P&G. This is a month where we will reflect on the important work P&G does to positively impact the communities in which we live and work. From our corporate partnerships, delivering support at scale with charities such as In Kind Direct or British Red Cross, our long-term brand partnerships such as Gillette x Movember or Pampers Preemies, to the inspiring work led at each of our sites directly impacting charities in our local communities.
Today, we’re shining a spotlight on our charity partner of over 21 years, In Kind Direct – an organisation that believes everyone deserves access to life’s essentials, and that no usable product should go to waste. We have worked with In Kind Direct since 2001, supporting more than 7,500 charitable organisations through product donations with an estimated retail value of almost £50 million. By channelling our donations of essential products through In Kind Direct, who then distribute these items to their network of charities across the UK, we are able to provide grassroots support at scale to thousands of organisations and people in need across the UK.
As part of our 20-year anniversary campaign, we worked with a number of P&G brands to highlight their vitally important role in supporting people in need, including:
- Gillette, through which we have helped people to put their best face forward by distributing over four million products.
- Always and Tampax, donating more than 11 million period products across the UK, helping to ensure everyone has access to period protection.
- Pampers, through which we have continued to support the happy, healthy development of babies by providing more than three million products to families in need.
- Fairy, donating 1.5 million products to homes across the UK — cleaning more than one billion plates and helping to feed family life.
During the current external climate, we know that it has never been more important for us all to pull together in support of our communities. Throughout the month we will reflect on and be proud of what we have achieved in Northern Europe through our community impact work, whilst also ensuring we look ahead to our continued commitment to deliver meaningful impact to our communities.
